Q: How can I download the latest Aldec software?

A: The latest software can be found at the Support Portal. Access to the portal requires a user name and password. Once logged in access My Downloads and you will be able to the latest software and libraries.

Q: Can I download my license file from the website?

A: To access your license file visit the Support Portal, click on the View My Profile link and then the View My Licenses link to the left.

Q: I received a license file by email from Aldec - Is this all I need for the software to work?

A: No. In order to use Aldec software a physical USB keylock is required. This is shipped separately. If you require immediate access to the software at the time of purchase please ask for a temporary license.

Note: If a floating license was purchased and the license server is UNIX based a USB keylock will not be shipped and the license you have will work.

Evaluation and Industry licenses typically do not utilize keylocks and are based on Mac Addresses. All license of this type are temporary and should not be used for commercial work.

Renewals: If you are renewing an existing license (Example extended maintenance contract) the license file will work with your existing keylock or Unix license serve and nothing new will be shipped.

Q: Why does my license expire?

Aldec's commercial, perpetual licenses need to be renewed on an annual basis. If you elect not to renew the software maintenance contract, you may request a five year renewable archived license.

Users renewing a maintenance contract are sent a license extension for the latest version of the software. The new license received upon renewal of maintenance will expire on the new maintenance contract expiration date.

New purchasers will see a short term expiration date. Aldec provides all licenses at the time of a new license purchase based on good faith. The short term license expires based on the agreed upon payment terms to Aldec. A new license will be issued once payment has been received in full and it will expire on the maintenance renewal date.

Term Based, University and Industry licenses expire based on the terms of your agreement with Aldec.
