Saving Simulation Waveform

Description

How to save and recall the signal order, font height/color, signal dividers (named rows),and signal groups in the waveform from a previous simulation run?

Solution

In order to save and recall the signal order, font height/color, signal dividers, and signal groups from simulation to simulation you need to use “save to macro” feature. Here are the steps:

  1. Initialize the simulation, add signals to the waveform, format them the way you need.

  2. Select Waveform | Save To Macro from the main menu.

  3. In the Choose a file name to save window specify the name and location of the .do file (that will store all the formatting).

  4. Click Save.

  5. Run Simulation.

Next time you need to run the simulation and use the same formatting, please do the following:

  1. Initialize the simulation

  2. In the Design Browser right-click the .do file (that you saved previously) and select Execute from the drop-down menu.

  3. Run simulation.
